Serengeti Safari Camp is a classic mobile tented camp that moves over the year from the grassy plain to the hilly woodlands and spectacular granite kopjes, all inside Serengeti national park. This camp is small and constructed in traditional safari style, with just 6 comfortable walk-in tents, each with its private en suite bathroom, flush loos plus a bucket shower.

The camp shifts location each 2 weeks however, not during the guests’ stay. The Camp movements are pre-arranged in an attempt to be close to the wildebeest migration, however, this can’t be guaranteed at all times given the changeability of nature based on the weather conditions.

Each group of guests is offered a private 4 wheel drive safari vehicle along with an experienced driver-guide from Tanzanian during their stay, permitting complete convenience to customize the safari in accordance to their personal preferences. Accommodation

The 6 tents are have a light presence , spacious  with sufficient comfortable beds, an ample dressing area, along with an inside bathroom with a minimal water consumption bio-degradable flush toilet, plus classic safari style bucket showers supplied with hot & cold water.

Childcare

Serengeti Safari Camp isn’t suitable for all children so just those of 8 years and above are allowed in camp. The meal times may be modified to match the preference of children while babysitting may be arranged for guests that will need it. Please be aware that there is an age limitation of 12 years for fly camping and walking excursions .

Facilities

Because of the ‘nomadic’ nature of this camp, Serengeti Safari Camp is very basic, offering a completely new library plus lounge tent, in addition to a dining tent in which their outstandingly scrumptious dishes are served.

Activities

Game drives are conducted in private 4 wheel drive vehicles with a private driver-guide to lead you on your daily game drives plus birding excursions. There is a chance to see the Annual great migration of wildebeests and zebras, substantial herds of plains wild animals and the highest number of predators in the whole of Africa.

When to travel

Tanzania is a sizeable country, having a diverse climate. In general, the long rains start in March to May, and the temperatures are warm and humidity high. From June to October is the lengthy dry season, with short rains coming in November and December. Starting January to February is the short dry season therefore this is yet another great time to visit.

The Wildebeest calving season starts in December up to March. In April to May, the plains are completely dry so the herd starts the journey northwards. Between June and July, the migration herd enters the Western Corridor of Serengeti and must cross River Grumeti with its huge crocodiles. Starting August to November, this migration reaches the grasslands on the bank of River Mara infested with several crocodile which the herds must cross twice, as they finish this migration.
